I started a one year Foundation course at Ealing School of Art in 1969 and went on to do a three year diploma course in graphic design at Watford School of Art. I then worked as a technical illustrator for some years drawing the insides of electrical equipment. Later, I was offered a job as a graphic artist for a large newspaper group in West London where I was fortunate enough to be allowed time out to illustrate three canal guides. These have since been bought out by the IWA. After moving to Dorset and working as a self-employed graphic artist, I found a niche in the market for painting landscapes and portraits. Since then I have lived in South Wales and now Merseyside. I find plenty of inspiration around me for painting from the local seascapes and canals when travelling on our canal boat.
